The first shape is the easiest voicing: 4 fretted strings and 0 open strings. Put your pinky finger on the 4th fret of the G string. Put your index finger on the 2nd fret of the C string. Bm is B, D, F#. That is a minor triad (root, minor third, perfect fifth). Play them in any order and you still get Bm. Bm sits in the keys of D major, G major, A major.
